This year I am participating in the UCDVO Volunteer Programme, a component of which is an approximately 4-week voluntary placement with the Society for Working Life (SWL) and Women, Work and Health Initiative (WWHI) based  in New Delhi, India. UCDVO is a registered charity that provides UCD students, staff and alumni with the opportunity to engage in a volunteer programme for the benefit of disadvantaged communities overseas, in response to needs explicitly identified by those communities.As part of this programme, I'll support an education project being implemented by UCDVO’s partners the Society for Working Life (SWL) and Women’s Work and Health Initiative (WWHI), in the Community Educational and Development Centre (CEDC) in Sangham Vihar, New Delhi. The centre enables 100 children from the city’s poorest areas to access education and nutritious meals. Your donations will support early year’s education programme for girls in the Community Education and Development Centre. Activities will include: ● English language, digital literacy, cultural exchange, drama, play. ● Gender awareness training seminars; mutual learning and exchange on key issues facing women and girls.
