My Story
Support our Irish team; 'Team Hope' as we support Mustard Seed Communities' (MSC) programmes to feed, educate, and empower communities across Zimbabwe.
Today half the population of Zimbabwe (7.9 million ) live below the poverty line. This means every day is a struggle for food, water, sanitation, education - for basic human needs.
MSC currently feeds 1,200 children a hot meal every day across 5 locations in the Bulawayo region of Zimbabwe. One of these programmes operates from the Ngozi Mine, which is the Bulawayo city dump, where more than 2,000 people live in subhuman conditions, amongst the filth and the flies. MSC provides a simple meal programme at Ngozi Mine where they prepare a hot meal on the dump for the children who live in the garbage.
Enabling communities to become self-sufficient is one of the most empowering tools to break the cycle of poverty. MSC's programmes; via a combination of nutrition, education, training, and sustainable farming aim to enable communities to feed themselves, thus reducing the reliance on external aid.
Please give what you can and support 'Team Hope' as we support MSC to combat poverty and build resilient and empowered communities in Zimbabwe!
