Hi guys,As some of you may already know, I was lucky enough to be chosen to travel to South India next June with UCDVO as part of a group of volunteers. In Vijayawada, South India UCDVO has established a partnership with the international NGO ‘Care and Share’. This NGO runs two ‘Children’s Villages’ for over one thousand children who have been orphaned/abandoned as a result of HIV/Aids and extreme poverty.As a Physiotherapy student, I will travel to Vijayawada as part of an elective placement and work alongside three other physiotherapy students and a chartered physiotherapist providing much needed intervention for children with cerebral palsy, polio, developmental delays and so on. We will also engage in community outreach programmes working with children who have never had any diagnosis/intervention at all. In order to travel, I must raise 1,400 euro so all donations, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. I have covered travel expenses of 1,200 euro myself, therefore all money raised will go towards the provision of essential physiotherapy equipment, aids such as wheelchairs and splints, as well as aiding personal costs to travel.
