1. This year we plan to continue our re-build of the Out Patient Department. Over 80,000 children visit the Outpatients Department each year, with sick children all over the country travelling to Crumlin every day. It is vital that children have the facilities needed to provide the best possible care.

2. Straight Ahead is a medical support group affiliated to the CMRF, which provides surgery, support and medical equipment for children with orthopaedic conditions. Straight Ahead is resourced through fundraising, donations and voluntary labour. Straight Ahead are running a campaign to raise €400,000 to purchase the EOS scanner. The EOS Scanner (low radiation x-rays) is a much safer, quicker and cheaper way of scanning a patient with better results.

3. We will continue to fund NCRC researchers who have made important discoveries about many diseases of childhood including Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Allergies, Eczema, Congenital Malformations and Irritable Bowel Disease.
